I thought I had a rough day today…things in my world kept going wrong. My perspective changed on the way home from the gym tonight when I saw a billow of smoke coming from a town home. First of all, no one was hurt. After the chaos settled, I mentioned to a bystander how hard it is to lose all of the things you feel you own, in just one moment. I thought back to a time in my life where I did lose about 80% of everything I possessed. While it was sad, a lot of memories, clothes, pictures and heirlooms were lost. Initially, it was devastating. Shortly after I equated that they were “things and stuff” and realized I couldn’t take that stuff with me. I have my life and my health and whatever I need I will find. I made it through somehow. I believe it changed my perspective on my life in general. Things happen, but you need to find your silver lining sometimes to help you through. Material things are just that, “things” that are mostly replaceable. But life, everyday, good or bad is still irreplaceable and irreversible! Appreciate each event, trial or triumph for what it is. Learn from it if there is a lesson being taught. How you respond becomes the pages of your life. Life…there is that word again! Don’t forget to live it! We are here to live and experience every emotion and feeling. Success, achievement, love, loss, happiness, pain, life and death. Embrace what you don’t know. You may not always understand it right then. But when you look back and see things from a different perspective, it will show you your strengths and weaknesses. Find your way on this journey to use those things to become your best self. Stay inspired!
